Legal Stuff
Plain-language boundaries, privacy practices, and shared responsibilities for this space.
The Fine Print
Shalom, friend. I know legal documents aren't exactly bedtime reading—but in the tradition of making fences around the Torah, sometimes we need clear boundaries to protect what's sacred. In this case, that's you, your privacy, and the integrity of this space we're building together.
This page lays out disclosures, privacy practices, disclaimers, and the responsibilities we share. It's not the most exciting text, but it's honest, and it matters. These protections serve both you and the platform—they clarify what you can expect from us, and what we need from you to keep this community safe and sustainable.
I won't pretend it's a page-turner, but I do encourage you to at least skim it. Knowing the rules helps everyone move forward with confidence and trust. And if something's unclear? Well, that's what questions are for.

Dialogs in Faith is operated by Dialogs In, LLC, a Florida limited liability company.
This page is a combined Terms of Use and Privacy Notice. By accessing or using DiF, or by creating an account and affirmatively accepting these terms, you agree to this notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
- You must be at least 18 years old to register for an account.
- Registration requires a username, email address, password, and birthdate. We use birthdate to confirm age eligibility.
- You must provide accurate registration information and protect your login credentials.
- If you use DiF for or on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
- Continued use after an updated notice becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated notice where permitted by law. Material changes will be presented through the service or another reasonable notice method.
Guest access is also subject to these terms. Guest use does not create an account or unlock account-only tools.
Dialogs in Faith uses third-party infrastructure and AI services to operate. Depending on the feature and the model selected by the service administrator, AI requests may be processed by OpenRouter or Groq. Short utility tasks, such as some greetings, titles, retrieval scoring, or reflections, may use a different configured model from the model used for a Speaker conversation.
When you use an AI feature, the provider may receive the prompt, relevant conversation context, persona instructions, retrieved reference material, and other text needed to generate the response. When you use text-to-speech, the reply text may be sent to Microsoft Azure Speech to generate audio.
Other essential service providers include:
- Supabase for account authentication, database hosting, and stored application data
- Stripe for Energy Bucket purchases and optional contributions
- Email-delivery infrastructure used for account confirmation and password recovery
We are not affiliated with OpenRouter, Groq, Microsoft, Supabase, Stripe, or the developers of the underlying AI models beyond using their services and integrations. Their processing is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Large Language Models (LLMs) are powerful and imperfect. They may:
- Provide incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or misleading information
- Misattribute, misquote, or invent sacred texts, historical sources, or citations
- Miss cultural, theological, or personal context
- Produce unexpected, biased, or inappropriate responses
We use curated knowledge sources, retrieval tools, persona instructions, safety layers, and quote-verification features in some contexts, but these measures do not guarantee accuracy.
No AI output is authoritative, sacred, divinely inspired, or professional advice. Verify important claims with primary sources and qualified people in your faith community. Do not rely on DiF for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice. If you may be in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.
DiF offers simulated Speakers inspired by religious traditions, philosophies, psychological perspectives, and historical figures. These Speakers are creative, AI-generated interpretations—not the actual people, official representatives of a faith, licensed clinicians, clergy, or supernatural entities.
Speaker names, portraits, descriptions, and responses are intended to support reflection and learning. They should not replace scripture, community, worship, therapy, pastoral care, or direct engagement with qualified teachers and primary sources.
The information we collect depends on how you use DiF.
Account and profile information
- Username, email address, password-authentication records, and birthdate
- Profile settings, favorite Speaker, display preferences, profile images or banners you choose to provide
- Account status, role, confirmation status, and recovery activity
Content and activity
- Prompts, Speaker conversations, replies, flags, and related conversation metadata
- Journal entries, personal notes, categories, tags, Collections, Study Groups, and generated analyses
- Model selection, token/energy usage, feature activity, and timestamps
- Content you submit for support, moderation, or troubleshooting
Spiritual reflections can be deeply personal. Please do not submit passwords, payment-card numbers, government identifiers, or information you do not want processed by the service and its necessary providers. Avoid using DiF as a repository for sensitive medical, legal, financial, or third-party confidential information.
Technical and guest information
- IP address, session identifiers, browser/device information available in ordinary web requests, request logs, rate-limit events, and security diagnostics
- For guests, a chosen display name, temporary Speaker conversation history, activity timestamps, and token usage associated with the guest session and IP address
Payment information
Stripe processes payment-card details. We do not receive or store full card numbers. We may receive and retain transaction identifiers, purchase amounts, product information, payment status, Stripe customer identifiers, and limited billing/contact information needed to reconcile purchases and provide support.
We use information to:
- Create and secure accounts, confirm eligibility, and provide account recovery
- Generate AI conversations, Study Group discussions, journal titles, Collection analyses, audio, and other requested features
- Preserve conversation continuity and user-created content
- Meter conversation energy, prevent abuse, and process purchases or contributions
- Provide exports and user-requested deletion controls where available
- Review flags, respond to support requests, debug failures, maintain security, and improve reliability
- Comply with law, enforce these terms, and protect users, DiF, and others
We do not sell personal information or use private journal and conversation content for third-party behavioral advertising. We do disclose information to the service providers described above when necessary to operate requested features, secure the service, or process transactions.
Dialogs In, LLC does not use private conversations or Journal content to train a public AI model. Third-party AI providers process prompts and context under their own terms and privacy practices. If we propose a materially broader use of private content in the future, we will update this notice and request any additional consent required by law.
Registered users can save private Journal entries, organize entries into Collections, request AI-assisted Collection analysis, and create persistent Study Groups. Registered conversations may be retained to preserve context and allow you to revisit them.
Journal entries, conversations, Collections, and Study Groups are not end-to-end encrypted. They are protected using the application and infrastructure safeguards described below, but authorized service administrators and infrastructure providers may be technically capable of accessing stored or processed content.
Administrative access is limited to authorized personnel with a legitimate operational need, such as responding to a user request, reviewing flagged content, investigating abuse or security events, debugging, maintaining system integrity, or complying with law. No online system can promise absolute confidentiality or security.
Current user controls include deleting individual Journal entries, Collections, saved Study Groups, individual chat messages, or stored interactions with a Speaker where the relevant interface makes that control available. Some exports are available for Speaker chats, Study Groups, and Collection workflows; DiF does not currently promise a single complete export of every category of account data.
DiF uses safeguards designed for the nature of the service, including encrypted network transport, provider-managed encryption at rest, password authentication, session protections, CSRF defenses, input handling, access controls, and rate limiting. These controls reduce risk but cannot eliminate it.
Account and application data is primarily stored through Supabase. AI content is transmitted to the configured inference provider when a request is made. Text used for speech may be transmitted to Azure Speech. Transaction information is processed by Stripe.
We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, fraud prevention, security investigations, enforcement of these terms, or protection of rights and safety. If ownership or control of Dialogs In, LLC changes, information may transfer as part of that transaction subject to this notice and applicable law.
See Technical Stuff — Security Practices for a product-level overview. That overview is explanatory and is not a guarantee against every security incident.
We retain registered-account information and user-created content while the account remains active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet security and legal obligations, and maintain transaction records. Different records may require different retention periods.
Guest sessions are stored in the database using an IP-linked session record. Active guest records receive an expiration approximately 24 hours after the latest session update. Expired records are removed by a scheduled cleanup process, so physical deletion may occur after the expiration time rather than at that exact moment.
Deleting visible content removes the applicable live application record, subject to technical dependencies, fraud/security records, legal obligations, transaction records, and any limited backup or log-retention periods. We do not promise that every deletion is instantaneous or that no residual copy can ever exist.
DiF does not currently provide a complete self-service account-deletion button. To request account deletion, access, correction, or another privacy action, email dialogsinfaith@gmail.com from the account email when possible. We may need to verify identity before acting. We will respond as required by applicable law and explain if a record must be retained.
DiF uses a token-metered conversation-energy system. Registered accounts currently receive a daily free allowance that resets at midnight UTC. Usage beyond that allowance draws from prepaid Energy Buckets when available. Input and output tokens are both counted, and heavier models consume more DiF energy per raw model token.
Current Energy Buckets are one-time Stripe purchases:
| Price | Bucket name | DiF conversation energy |
|---|---|---|
| $1 | Light Spark | 1,000,000 DiF tokens |
| $3 | Steady Flame | 4,000,000 DiF tokens |
| $5 | Deep Well | 8,000,000 DiF tokens |
| $10 | Grand Reserve | 20,000,000 DiF tokens |
DiF energy is an internal measure of permitted compute usage. It is not currency, property, stored value, or a claim against Dialogs In, LLC; it has no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts. Under the current program, prepaid bucket balances do not reset daily and remain available until consumed. The treatment of an unused balance following account closure or discontinuation of the program will follow the policy disclosed at that time and applicable law.
Models and their energy multipliers may change as provider availability and costs change. The displayed Energy Meter is the controlling in-product estimate of current usage. DiF may correct balances affected by fraud, chargebacks, duplicate credits, or technical errors.
Optional payments on the Support page are voluntary contributions to support operation of the service. Dialogs In, LLC is not represented as a tax-exempt charity, and contributions should not be treated as tax-deductible charitable donations unless we expressly provide documentation stating otherwise.
Payment disputes and refund requests should be sent promptly to dialogsinfaith@gmail.com. Refund eligibility has not been promised by this notice and will be evaluated under the checkout terms, the circumstances, Stripe rules, and applicable law. Nothing here limits any non-waivable consumer right.
Guests may converse with every currently available Speaker. Journal entries, Collections, Study Groups, persistent personalization, and other account-based tools require registration.
Guest chat draws from one shared daily allowance of 50,000 DiF tokens per UTC calendar day across all Speakers, not a separate allowance per Speaker. The allowance is enforced using the guest session and IP address, so people sharing a network may affect the same limit. Additional rate limits apply, including limits intended to prevent automated or abusive traffic.
When the guest allowance is exhausted, the service may invite you to register, log in, or return after the next UTC reset. Availability, limits, Speakers, and models may change as the service evolves.
You may not:
- Use DiF for unlawful, exploitative, deceptive, abusive, harassing, or harmful activity
- Submit content that violates another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, or other rights
- Attempt to bypass authentication, conversation-energy limits, rate limits, safety controls, or access restrictions
- Probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, or introduce malicious code into the service except where a non-waivable law expressly permits otherwise
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority
- Use AI output as divine revelation or as a substitute for qualified medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice
- Use DiF to make high-impact decisions about another person in areas such as employment, housing, credit, education, insurance, healthcare, or legal services
We may investigate suspected violations and may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, providers, or others. We may preserve relevant records where required for security, dispute resolution, or law.
You retain whatever rights you hold in content you submit. You grant Dialogs In, LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, format, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and support the service, provide features you request, and enforce these terms. This license does not authorize us to publish your private content or use it to train a public AI model.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit content. Do not upload or submit another person’s confidential or copyrighted material without authorization.
DiF’s software, branding, interface, original artwork, curated persona configurations, and other service materials are owned by Dialogs In, LLC or used under license. The service does not grant you ownership of those materials. AI-generated output may not qualify for intellectual-property protection and may resemble output produced for others; no exclusivity is promised.
DiF is an evolving service. Features, Speakers, models, limits, pricing, and integrations may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, preservation of every feature, or compatibility with every device.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for material violations, security risk, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, or conduct that threatens the service or others. Where practical, we will provide notice or an opportunity to contact support, but immediate action may be necessary in urgent situations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DiF is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, spiritual benefit, or preservation of data. We do not warrant that AI output is correct, appropriate, or free from harmful or objectionable content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dialogs In, LLC and its members, managers, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, opportunity, or profits arising from use of or inability to use DiF.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Because legal limitations vary, this section should be reviewed by qualified Florida counsel before being relied upon as a final limitation-of-liability provision.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another jurisdiction’s non-waivable consumer law applies.
Before filing a claim, you and Dialogs In, LLC agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by emailing dialogsinfaith@gmail.com with enough detail to evaluate the issue. This informal process does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or exercising a right that cannot be waived.
No mandatory arbitration agreement, class-action waiver, or exclusive county venue is created by this version of the terms.
If a Speaker produces offensive, harmful, inaccurate, or theologically troubling content, use the flag control where available and provide helpful context. Authorized administrators may review the flagged exchange and related information needed to investigate it.
For privacy requests, suspected security issues, copyright concerns, billing questions, or other legal matters, contact dialogsinfaith@gmail.com. Please do not include passwords, full payment-card numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information in email.
We may revise these Terms of Use and Privacy Notice as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the service, by email, or through another reasonable method when required. We will request additional consent if required before applying a materially different use to information already collected.
